It is presented in the form of large and transparent crystals, more difficult to dissolve in water. It goes through a slight refinement process. It is more appropriate for culinary use.

Demerara sugar undergoes a light refinement and does not receive any chemical additives, so its grains are light brown. It has a high nutritional value, similar to that of brown sugar.

Also known as white sugar, it is subjected to a process of refinement preserving sucrose and leaving it with a white color, tasty and easy to dissolve. The term Icumsa refers to an international standard of purity and degree of whiteness.

Cultivated with the best organic practices, it has the same calories as ordinary sugar, but preserves some of the nutrients present in sugarcane. Because it is not refined, it is thicker and darker.

It is the raw sugar, still with the layer of honey that covers the crystal of the sugar, so its color is darker. The main exported type, VHP (Very High Polarization) sugar is used as a raw material for other types of sugar and industrialization processes.

Like VHP, it is used as a raw material for sugar refineries, not being indicated for direct consumption by consumers. It has a higher polarization than VHP (99.6°z). The acronym VVHP stands for "Very Very High Polarization".
